Read our terms and conditions for all our products and services.

EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE / SWAP.

1.    Premium - Demo equipment packages include free swapping, this allows you to try different skis or boards.

2.    Swap from skis to boards in our standard range is free for the first swap. For subsequent swaps there is a ¥1500 fee. To be paid at the time of swap.

3.    There is no charge for boot changes.

4.    You are required to make your own way to the closest store with equipment for exchanges / swaps.  Skiers need to bring boots and skis for any changes and or adjustments.

 

CHILDREN CLASSIFICATION.

1.    Children are classified by age.

2.    Children aged 13  and under (at the time of hire) are considered “children” or "kids" for equipment rental.

 

AMENDMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY.

Details required: Renter Name | Booking Number | Request  (or reply using your original booking confirmation)

If your cancellation request is approved in line with our booking terms and conditions, a refund receipt will be automatically emailed to the address provided at the time of booking. Refunds are issued via the original method of payment.

Amendments & Cancellations

More than 7 Days Before Start Date

  • Amendments or cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the rental start date will incur a 10% fee on the refund amount.

Within 7 Days of Start Date

  • Amendments or cancellations made within 7 days of the rental start date will incur a 20% fee on the refund amount.

Within 48 Hours of Start Date

  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations or changes made within 48 hours of the rental start date. (Note: We operate at 100% reservation capacity during key periods of the season.)

Changes After Rental Has Commenced

  • No refunds are provided once the rental period has commenced, including for:
    • No-shows on the start day
    • Early returns
    • Changes to booked items or rental duration

Rest Days

  • Hire duration is continuous. Rest days are not counted as exclusions from the rental period.

Additions

  • Extensions or additions to rentals (e.g. extra days) can be arranged in-store, subject to availability.

Injury During Rental

  • If your rental period is shortened due to injury:
    • medical certificate (from a doctor or physiotherapist) in the name of the renter must be provided.
    • All equipment must be returned in-store by 5pm on the day to be eligible for a refund on any remaining days. 
    • You must apply for the refund within 7 days of returning the equipment.

Travel Insurance

Central Snowsports recommends travel insurance (TI). TI often provides cover for cancellation of products, trips and activities, lost and stolen rental equipment, personal injury and illness.

RENTAL INSURANCE COVERAGE - CENTRAL SNOWSPORTS

Included in Rental Price
Our rental prices include insurance for:

  • Minor base scratches
  • Edge sharpening
  • Repairable core shots

Not Covered by Insurance:

  • Misuse of Equipment: Riding on roads or causing excessive base damage will incur a full tuning fee of ¥10,000, at the discretion of the Store Manager.
  • Lost, Stolen, or Irreparably Damaged Equipment: Charged at 10 days of rental price, regardless of the rental period used. Replacement equipment will be issued.
  • Accessories (e.g. clothing, helmets, wrist guards, etc.): Charged at full replacement cost if lost or damaged.
  • Top Sheet Damage: Ski and snowboard top sheets are easily damaged by impact or misuse (e.g. banging together, hitting hard surfaces). This is also charged at 10 days of rental price.

Normal Wear and Tear:
No problem – our gear is made to be used!

 

EQUIPMENT COLLECTION | LATE RETURNS.

1.    Equipment can be collected from 1pm before the first day of hire. Collection after 1pm is not counted as a hire day. A minimum of 1 full day hire will be charged for equipment rental.

2.    Equipment returned can be returned before 9am the morning after the last day for the use of night time activities (Central Snowsports must be made aware). After 9am an additional full day will be charged

3.    Equipment can be collected from any of the three stores in Hakuba. Any store can be used during the hire period.

 

RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS – RENTERS AGREEMENT.

1.    I will be responsible for the return of the goods and equipment in good order and condition.

2.   I will be responsible to pay for damage, however caused, to the goods and equipment.

3.    I agree to return the goods and equipment to Central Snowsports on the last day of the hiring period during opening hours.

4.    Once we have completed the hire process and taken delivery of the goods and equipment Central Snowsports are not obliged to give a refund under any circumstances.

5.    On agreeing to the terms and conditions, you acknowledge that the recreational activities are dangerous with inherent risks and hazards and as a consequence (including serious personal injury) and sometimes death can occur. You accept all such risks and hereby waive the right to sue the suppliers for any personal injury or death suffered by you in any way whatsoever caused by or arising from such injuries.

6.    Central Snowsports strongly recommend that all skiers and snowboarders wear accredited helmets whenever skiing or snowboarding and Central Snowsports also recommend that snowboarders wear wrist guards.

7.    The equipment and services Central Snowsports supplies are rendered with due care and skill based on the information we receive from you.

8.    Central Snowsports recommends travel insurance.

     2. All Codes apply to hard goods only. Skis/boots/poles, skis/poles, board/boots, board only packages. They do not apply to clothing and accessories
